There are some key points to know about Rite Aid:

1. Wellness Card with Up+ Rewards. This is your BEST friend at Rite Aid (RA), sign up TODAY if you have not already. Always have your card ready when shopping at Rite Aid, this is how you will save lots of money! The easiest way to get your card is right at the register, there is no waiting and you can use it right then This card entitles you to savings off the regular shelf price as well as the ability to earn UP+ rewards. 2. Everything is expensive if it's not on sale. When shopping at Rite Aid do NOT buy anything that isn't on sale and that you don't have a coupon for!

3. Rite Aid is SUPER coupon friendly, they have no problem taking your coupons and giving you lots and lots of stuff for FREE!

4. Rite Aid has a free program on their website called Video Values. These are little commercials you watch on your computer and then earn coupons that you print. This is a must have if you plan on saving lots of money at Rite Aid. To sign up for Video Values simply go here and watch one video, it will then prompt you to sign up and you can start earning your coupons! Your coupons are saved under the "rewards" tab and can be printed all at once after you are done watching your videos.

5. Planning ahead is an important part of couponing, knowing what is going to be on sale in advance helps you to organize your coupons and acquire additional coupons if you know you are going to need to stock up on something that is on sale. www.iheartriteaid.com is THE site to view the Rite Aid sales flyers up to three weeks in advance.

6. Rain checks! These will be your safety net to the issue of LOW stock at Rite Aid. Rite Aid will issue a rain check for an item they do not have in stock for whatever quantity you wanted to purchase and it's good for a month. You may have to wait a month for a hot item but don't worry they will renew it for you! These will guarantee that you get the sale price when the item comes back in stock. So you don't have to be the first one in the door on Sunday morning!

Couponing at the end of the earth...

So you have seen the show on TLC. We know you can save money by using coupons. But how can it be done when you live in an area with no stores! It presents a challenge that is for sure but it can be done. You will not be getting $1000 worth of groceries at Shop and Save for $5.00 and you won't be hitting up 10 different Walmart's for that great deal on body wash but you can save lots of money if you know how to make the best of your coupons! I will try and post the best deals that affect those of us not shopping in Bangor or Portland (or anywhere in between). I will be focusing on Rite Aid, Walmart, Shop and Save (Hannaford) and IGA.
